We Updated Our 90's Bathtub in One Weekend With Less Than $200.

We wanted to give our outdated bathtub a fresh new look without breaking the bank. After giving it some thought, we decided to leave the existing tile in place, and surface right over the top of it. We added mdf to the tub face and applied tile right over the existing tile. The entire project took us one weekend and cost less than $200! I love it! It looks so bright and modern!
The tub before we resurfaced it.
It had almond-colored '90s tile.
After we added carerra marble and wood paneling.
We tiled over the existing tile.
The entire project took one weekend and cost around $200.

Did you have to lift tub up? Or is tile butted up against?

I did this project and love the results. It looks much more up-to-date now and I love the farmhouse feel to the room. Thanks so much for the inspiration.

Are you sure we don’t have the same “before” tub. 🤣😂🤣 Great finish. Thanks for the idea(s). I was looking for something like this but this helped narrow a lot down. Appreciate it!
