I remember seeing that post and being absolutely fascinated ... I have spent the last hour looking for it, and simply cannot find it! There is always the possibility that the post has been removed. Could you not use something flat and spray paint it in a mat silver? How big is the area? Another idea would be to take a suitable picture and have it laminated and then lay this flat - the lamination would protect the paper, and give a slight reflection. You could select a picture which has koi in it, and it could look fantastic. You may be limited by the width that can be laminated, but I believe lengths are generally not a problem.

Thanks for you suggestions Valerie, my fairy garden is outside & whatever I do will have to be weatherproof. Area wil be about 4x6 inches or so.

I just saw one with the pond made out of blue sea glass in a shallow bowl and I know that's something you can buy at craft stores. I vaguely recall one made from a mirror, with silver paint on it. Good luck!

Thank you Lisa, both those ideas sound workable.

I was also thinking of a mirror. I do think something laminated would survive outside. I have laminated pictures which I have put up on one of my outside walls, and they have been there for several years.

I'm thinking the successful use of laminate outside would depend on whether it was vertical or horizontal. We had a laminated children's table outside on our covered deck at the campground. Unfortunately, it was too close to the outside edge of the deck and one corner of the laminate popped away from the surface. We've glued it back down, but have decided to keep it indoors from now on.

Thanks Valerie, good to know something that holds up. Will give it a try.

Thanks Lisa, going to try both ideas & see how they'll look.
