Update Furniture With Vintage Maps

3 Hours
Medium
Easily update a worn or scratched piece of furniture with a new coat of paint, vintage maps, and mod podge.
Any piece of furniture can become a custom and unique accent piece with a coat of chalk paint and an old map.
This thrift store accent table was completely scratched on all surfaces.
The top had serious water stains.
Instead of stripping and re-staining the piece, I gave in new life.
I painted the legs in Annie Sloan old white chalk paint, and the inside cubby with Annie Sloan duck egg blue chalk paint.
Then applied Mod Podge to the top and a vintage map found in a old National Geographic magazine that I cut to perfect size.
The update took under one day, and is now the perfect piece in my home.

My grandpa was a commercial fisherman - what a great gift idea to get a mariners map of Moss Landing and the surrounding areas and do a little table for him! Love this idea! Thanks for sharing
