Tips for Sanding Vintage Hardwood Floors With a Drum Sander

I have never done (or helped) with modern hardwood floors, but I think it might be a little different with really old hardwood floors.
Renting a drum sander made this job go quicker and the dust collection system works pretty well.
This is the vintage hardwood floors after the carpet was removed. If you need tips on removing carpet, see this post: http://bit.ly/1iKymgO
the drum sander makes it really easy to replace the sandpaper.
Because the drum sander doesn't close to the baseboard, you will need an edge sander too. In addition, we used an orbital sander and a mouse sander for the tight corners.
the sandpaper comes in several varieties of grit.
