Cleaning Ridges Around Sinks & Stoves

Have you ever cleaned you kitchen, but felt like it still didn't really look clean? My biggest challenge in the kitchen use to be cleaning those little ridges around the stove or sink. Sometimes there is a little seam there that will collect dirt and it just doesn't come off with a rag and elbow grease, so I had to try to figure out another way to get it out.
The solution I have found works best for this problem is to use the edge of knife or toothpick and very gently glide it over that ridge. Please use extreme caution if using a knife. Aside from the chance of cutting yourself, you can scratch the counters and finish on your fixtures. The method works well with a toothpick as well, so if not comfortable with the knife use a toothpick instead. You should get the same results.
As you pull the knife/toothpick towards you, you will see the gunk from that seam starting to pull out and bead up. Using a rag wipe it off. This may take about 2-3 passes to get it all but really only takes a minute to do.
Once you have done that, you can step back and admire your clean ridges and see what a huge difference it makes in the overall appearance of your kitchen (or maybe bathroom since this happens there as well!)

Nikkis Insights on Dec 28, 2014i have purchased many "pampered chef" items in the past, and they give you a very nice plastic square scraper for the pans they sell. i love it and use it all the time on things i don't want to scratch, like my oven door or glass that a blade would scratch, or on delicate surfaces... and i use the sharp corner to do this. it works, and no fear of damage to any surfaces.
