Finding Landscaping Inspiration

Finding landscaping inspiration is not difficult if you know where to look. For me, I like to take regular trips to the Wildflower Center in Austin, TX. I get great ideas on native plants and always come away with a few ideas.
This is a great example of a nice shady spot. Notice some of the elements. Small tree, vines on fence, raised seating, herringbone brick lay, and lots of pots. All of these elements can be incorporated into any landscape.
If you prefer a more formal garden there is always a way to do this, even with plants that will thrive in your area. Notice how everything points towards the center, including the tree in the back.
Even a smallish water feature can dramatically improve any landscape. This one relies on native plants. Notice the stones, large grasses, ferns, and tree. This resembles native hill country ponds and creeks. Always find your inspiration from your surroundings and you'll always get it right.
