What's the best product to use to glue twigs on a modern mirror frame?
-
Pat S on May 13, 2014I'd try E-600 or E-6000 - I forget which it is but it comes in a grey tube... it is clear. I have found it works best and everything I've tried so far.Helpful Reply

Melissa @ Polished Habitat on May 13, 2014Elmers makes a product now call ProBond Advanced that would be great too. It's made to attach mixed materials and they mention both wood and glass on the packaging.Helpful Reply

Nancy Spencer Carlson on May 13, 2014The one thing you should probably consider when gluing twigs on is that the glue must bond to the bare twig, not just the bark. The bark will dry out and then your twigs will potentially fall off.Helpful Reply

Sheryll S on May 13, 2014So did anyone decide for sure on the glue? I was considering doing this also. I have purchased so many glues for gluing different textures together and oh my. I was thinking that I also would use the E-6000. I have no experience with it and seashells yet though. And I have put it off for so long the glue is so old it is rubbery now..... lol. Don't wait years like I have... grin.Helpful Reply

Ruth Hamner on May 14, 2014I can't recommend E6000 highly enough. I rebuild abused furniture and quite often need to replace and add embellishments. It works -- and lasts...Helpful Reply

Lorraine on May 14, 2014Thanks - as I was thinking about adding the willow I never thought about stripping the bark - so will do that. I do have tiny, tiny nails that I might try using - but if the glue is easier I'll go with that. I took a half way in between picture - it was a sad little table that I grabbed at a garage sale the other day - so we will see. Will post the photos when done. Thanks againHelpful Reply

Ruth Hamner on May 15, 2014Yes, that is the name. You can get it at WalMart in the craft area. It comes in a tube. It is best to let it cure overnight. It works like a charm...Helpful Reply
