For anyone thinking of adding Salvia the cultivar SALVIA NEMEROSA LYRICAL blues is an outstanding performer so far in my beds. It is over 2' tall (and still growing) here in zone 7 and they started blooming a month ago. May night ( salvia syvestris) is not a popular cultivar here and very often you cannot find it so I have had to experiment. I have found all 3 of the LYRICAL Blues Salvia to have doubled.Salvia Syvestris Blue Hill is a smaller plant and seems to be slower to spread. there are quite a few Salvias out there and the trick is to try one and see how it performs in your area.
