'Industrial Chic' Vintage Silver Shelving Unit..

This little project was completed in one afternoon. From Sad to Fab in no time at all!
My 'Industrial Chic' Silver 3 section vintage shelving unit with numerals.
This is the unit before being re-purposed. The unit was rescued from an old hairdressing salon re-fit. Given a good clean with Sugar Soap & a quick brush over.
It was painted in white base coat, then Aluminium paint applied on top. This paint dries very quickly.

I added numerals by drawing round some of the grandchildren's foam numbers! I took some old red fountain pen ink & coloured them in.

I then sanded it all with a rough sandpaper.
A really good sanding resulted in a great distressed effect.

A coat of clear matt varnish, mixed with a tiny amount of black oil paint from my artist partner's pallet, was applied, to give it some protection & a subtle finish.
Finished item - now on sale on eBay.

Hi Marion, rightly it is for sale. I thought it could be used in a variety of settings. Organiser for adults of children; in laundry room; garage or kitchen. Thanks for your comments!
