Nautical Redo -- From Blah to Beautiful!

My very beachy home by the ocean was beginning to seem somewhat "girly" with all the turquoise, yellow and beach accessories. While he swears he doesn't care what colors I choose as long as it's not "between me and the hockey game", I really wanted to give my sweetheart a room that incorporated his favorite color (orange!) and a more masculine theme, without parting from the overall feel of our décor.
I took advantage of his weekend trip out of town and threw myself into a surprise project that took two days and a bit of resourcefulness (I was all alone!)

This is what the room looked like when we moved in. Pretty blah, but a blank canvas!
I incorporated my sweetheart's favorite color (ORANGE!) with an accent wall.
I utilized French Provincial furniture I already had by chalk painting them in a beautiful denim blue with dark wax.
A little art...a burlap lamp shade and some beachy accessories finish out the room.
The color scheme seems to work.

quite awesome. I'm impressed because you did it by yourself. would love to do a lot of these things, but hubby doesn't care about changing decor and I absolutely love changing decor and often. So maybe I could give a go at it alone. lol I'll take a look see anyway....dottie
