Hey Hometalk friends! I'm painting a Coffee Welcome Sign today. So I wanted to make it feel warm and worn. I based the canvas with light brown, then painted over in black. After it dried, I sanded it to let some of the undercoat show through. The nubby canvas underneath makes for the perfect effect.
I made a template and then chalked the back and pen pressed from the front to transfer lettering.
Then I added some chalkboard style lettering and a coffee cup with a warm steamy scroll. Now it's a fun Welcome sign.
More details on my blog.
Happy Painting, Deb!
