A HomeGoods Table Makeover
by
The Painted Drawer by Suzanne Bagheri
(IC: blogger)
This was originally a table purchased from HomeGoods. The finish was a yellow color with stenciling. Although pretty, the overall effect was more country than I really typically go for. I thought it needed a makeover to create a piece with more character.
I first painted a basecoat of General Finishes Persian Blue and then a topcoat of Annie Sloan chalk paint in the color Coco. Adding a new drawer pull added a bit of sparkle. I actually bought the drawer pull at HomeGoods months ago.
The blue peeks through the topcoat and the distressing highlights the details.
The fluted legs are so pretty and again, look better after being distressed.
HomeGoods happy :)

Michele Eures on Jun 11, 2014Love this. I'm looking for that exact color for a dresser. It appears more gray than brown, which I think of when I read "coco". Is that the case? And thank you for the close up of the paint and distressing details.
