A Quirky Garden Made With Repurposed Items

last week was not the best of times. We had a tornado warning and there indeed was a funnel cloud forming over this little town. It never did hit but the hail sure did and destroyed not only our new car, the siding of our home but in fact destroyed every single plant, flower and tree we have. I mean it literally hit so hard that none of our plants or trees were left with leaves or buds. A few survived the storm but most did not. We spent today cleaning up. Our garden was a wreck, the vines have all been left leafless, my flowers have been split, the veggies we had growing were destroyed as well. I cleaned it up with my daughter and we added some fun to what little we were able to salvage. I'm hoping it will all grow back soon and be nice and plush as it was a week ago.
Caterpillar made from garden bricks, a garden ball, and a wood holder for the fireplace we had to demo.
Just some of the damage...You can see the vines just a week before and right after the hail storm. : (
We cleaned up the damage and decided to add some color to our little garden area.
My daughter and I decided we were going to paint the inside bricks that surround the garden in bright cheery colors. We like quirky in this family. We were also hoping it would brighten the area up after the storm destroyed all of our gardens growth.
The hail ruined all of our leaves on the vine that covers our fence, so it looks so bare among everything else. I'm patiently waiting for them to start growing again.
I tried to salvage as many flower and plants that I could which wasn't much and it looks very bare but I'm hoping they replenish themselves soon.
Made a concrete bench from pavers we had randomly laying around and a block of wood for the seat that I have been hauling around for years.
This old mirror from Walmart I had laying around, I thought it would be cute to paint a bunch of bright colored sunflowers on it for some color in the garden. I'm hoping once the vines on the fence get there leaves back this will look beautiful hidden in all the green.

Such an adorable garden you have recreated! Color Color Color can always lift a spirit no matter what form it comes in. Love All the brightly painted items you added. Oh and the mirror is a work of art Bravo. I never thought myself as someone who is quirky but I think I am. I like imperfections in things it makes them unique. I live on the coast and collect pretty broken unique shells and items the ocean tosses ashore. You went through a rough patch and it could have been much worse it seems you have just the right attitude to turn things around! Love your adorable garden the two of you made. Good luck I'm sure it will be flourishing in no time.
