DIY Upholster Antique Worn-Out Chair!

This chair looks as though it has seen it ALL. And then more! It was originally built approximately 1900. It was used and enjoyed until the upholstery was ripped and stained. In 1930, it was passed down to my grandmother. She had a beautiful slip-cover made for it and I remember sitting in this chair as a little girl in her guest bedroom! Jump forward to 1986 when my grandmother went to be with Jesus, and the chair was now mine!
I didn't know what to do with it! The slip-cover my grandmother had on it was soiled and torn plus it covered the unique wood feet. Well as you can probably guess, it sat in storage until 2014 when I decided to be creative!
Middle of seat is stained and torn.
I was in the process of redecorating my daughters bedroom and needed a cute chair. That's when my wheels started turning! I decorated her room in a color theme of aqua blue walls and black and white bedding and curtains. The bed she sleeps in was originally mine! It is an antique white iron bed. So I really wanted to continue the color theme on to this antique chair. That's when I remembered I had this black and white leopard print tucked away.

All I did to cover this was to use a pair of scissors, a staple gun, and a detail oriented eye!
The front
I aligned the flow of the pattern from front to back! And I stapled!
The back
ANYONE can do this and the best part is my daughter can enjoy a century plus old heirloom! :)

So much fun. Thanks for thinking outside the old box and trying something daring. sk

This is a STUNNING chair, but I have to admit that I was not expecting that covering! I nearly fell out of my chair laughing! Love it! What a great way to bring an older piece into the 21st century! (P.S. All your friends will think you have been visiting a very over-priced, snobbish designer shop!)
