How to Include Family Keepsakes in Your Wedding: A Unique Bouquet

In an effort to include heirloom items in my wedding, my mom decided to let me use a sleeve/cuff from her dress to make the decorative holder for my bridal bouquet.
My mom's wedding dress was beautiful, it just wasn't my style, so I knew I didn't want to literally wear it. So we needed to come up with a creative way to use a piece or part of it in my wedding.
The idea was born to remove one of the cuffs from the sleeve of the dress. It was the perfect size for wrapping around the base of my bridal bouquet. It simply required some pinning and voila...we were done.
And as you can see, I had a lovely bouquet on my special day. Made all that more special knowing that I was carrying a piece of my parent's special day with me.

Like old pictures like that...lol...it reminds me of my prom dress I made with long sleeves and high collar, I was the only one not showing skin...and yes it was a bit hot...but never the less it got reused later on. This was a perfect way to use the cuff and it's sad most just dry rot and never to be used again. I say recycle girl, and make some more things out of it, why let lace stay in a box in the closet, it's to pretty to tuck away, to be thrown away later from spoiling . You have some amazing post Thanks for sharing.
