Waterfall Dresser Makeover

This piece was headed to the dumpster-not just to be thrown in, but to be beat up so that it would FIT in the dumpster. I quickly said NOOOO, I'll take it. I hauled it home and it waited patiently while I decided what to do with it.
The veneer was in such bad shape that I knew it was too much for me to take on to restore it. I decided painting it was much better than the fate that lay ahead for it.
After removing the layers of veneer off the top, I was left with this mess. I generally use drywall mud to patch if I'm painting because it dries fast and it is easy to sand.
To get this job done quickly, I put it in the "paint booth" and gave it a quick (light) coat of white primer--with the drawers in place. I used my trusty Homeright Finish Max Pro.
After a coat of primer and a coat of Behr Premium Plus Ultra (white)
I added some of the Tiffany blue to some white to get the perfect color!
