Little Red Table Transformation

This little table was screaming for something fun to be done on her! I wanted a multiple layered look, and knew I could achieve that with Vaseline. And I could apply it wherever I wanted. She was darling just like she was, but a little sad! We couldn't have her sad now could we? This piece started out dark brown paint...eck! Yep I stripped all that awfulness off!
It's she just adorable?
I first painted random spots with ASCP Abusson Blue-I love that blue! Then I added the good ole Vaseline on those random spots. Now if I wanted some natural wood to show through I would have put vaseline on the bare wood, but I only placed it on the blue areas.
Then I carefully painted over the entire piece with the red and slowly went over the areas where I knew the vaseline was. I didn't want to drag the vaseline into another area. Let the red dry, wipe off vaseline areas and voila...blue exposure!
