Up date on my unusual Hosta.

Instead of sending up the usual flower scapes, this has a long stem with a cluster of leaves on top, then each leaf has a flower in it.

Beth S, Unbelieveable, I always loved hostas that did not do well at my home. Now I am overwhelmed. The plant itself is beautiful, the flowers are extraordinary.

It must have some Hosta plantaginea in it. That is how they flower.

Didn' t we see this before? Is this a different one? I remember commenting on a hosta like this, and wanting more update on why it is doing this? the leaf thing with flowers.

Marsha R, I only have one little hosta I bought a year ago & after a year it looked terrible and didn't grow much. I moved it to an area that only gets early morning sun & it looks better every day. I'm buying a gallon size today from my local nursery.

Looks like the bloom on a clivia. Very interesting! Beautiful color in that bloom... Mine are busting out all over the backyard right about now, too!

My Hostas love the shade or just a little sun.
