The 3 T's of Container Gardening

The 2 Seasons
by The 2 Seasons
When I recently replanted the two containers in front of our house, I followed the three rules that a gardening expert taught me: something tall, something thick, and something trailing.
The three t's add interest to any planter. In order to make it more appealing, I made sure to select different textures and sizes. The plants are small enough that they have plenty of growing room in the large planter.
Two of the plants are evergreens that will look good all year round, and the third plant is an annual. When these blooms are spent, I plan to replace it with another mum until a killing frost comes along. Then I'll put in a lantern to get through the winter. In the spring I'll plant pansies followed up with summer annuals.
To add more curb appeal to the front of our house, I added colorful pillows to our Chippendale bench. The pillows have some of the same colors as the plants.
The plants add a point of interest to our small porch and make an attractive entrance for our guests.
