Show Your Desk Drawers Some Love
During my recent desk makeover I just couldn’t stand the thought of leaving the insides of the desk drawers the yellowed beige they were especially since my desks were a fresh beautiful white. See how drab they are?
I decided giving the desk drawers some love would be a great way to show my husband some love and make both of us happy, even when we are working at our desks.
So I painted the inside of these dreary yellow drawers with affirmations and things that are special to my husband and me.
For this drawer I tried to mimic the design that is on the top of our wine box. This box is special to us because instead of doing a unity candle for our wedding, Chris and I did a wine box ceremony. So on our wedding day (almost two years ago) we sealed a pricey bottle of red wine (Carnival of Love wine to go with our carnival theme) and love letters to each other in this box. The only way the box gets opened is if times get really tough or on our fifth anniversary. So on September 22, 2017 we will be opening this box, having some good (we hope) wine and reading the letters we wrote to each other on our wedding day. This is the top drawer in Chris’ desk.
Chris signs all his emails and cards to me with XOXO so this is the top drawer of my desk. It’s one of our “things.” I even got him X and O cufflinks made out of old typewriter keys for the wedding.

Thanks Hannah! He responded in kind and for our first anniversary he got me a bracelet made from old typewriter keys with our initials and wedding date on it!
