Cold Frames

I came home one day to these beautiful cold frames. One of the perks of being married to a sweet carpenter. But as easy as these are, you don't need to be a carpenter to put them together. Scrap wood, old hinges and some old windows. Great way to extend the growing season! Check out the link at the bottom of the post for full details!
The only tools you need are a saw, hammer and drill or screwdriver. The windows were left in the basement after the previous owner had replaced all the old wood windows with vinyl frame windows.
The bases are constructed of scrap wood. and the front board is a bit shorter than the back giving a slight angle to the top so any rain will just roll off.
Simple construction with some galvanized hinges make this a quick and easy DIY.
