How to Paint an Inexpensive Ikea Doormat With Milk Paint
by
For The Love Creations
(IC: professional)
I bought an inexpensive (and boring!) coir outdoor doormat from Ikea. I wasn't sure how it would go but I thought I would try painting it with Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint.
Not much needed, just the doormat, a tape measure, painter tape (masking tape would work as well) and a marker that is heavy & thick enough to mark the rough coir...and paint!
I mixed up some Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint in "Tricycle" red and allowed it to sit while taping off the striped design.
I measured every 10cm across the doormat, marked the lines with the pen, then taped off the pattern and started painting.
It was a bit messy, but a whole lot of fun and I'm thrilled with the result! I see a monogram happening next!
The End Result!
