Design & Décor Painting Stairs

Before and After Staircase Makeover

For my staircase makeover, I removed the ugly, old, worn carpet and revamped the stair treads with ebony stain and painted the risers and railing. Now this space is warm and inviting as you enter into my home.

To read more about the steps that I took to create this project, head over to my blog and take a look:

Jenna, wow great job, girl! I just went over and read all about your stairs. I hadn't seen it before and love it all. I am about to start a stair project at my house & we are installing the pine stair treads. I went back & forth on staining or painting and I think I'm just going to paint mine with my dark chocolate brown paint that goes with my newly painted doors. I love both ways, so it was hard to choose. I'm doing a Dash & Albert runner down mine. I just love what you did, great job! Now can't wait to get to mine.

I thought I posted a comment here but I don't see it. #newbie Your stairs look so awesome, we are about to redo ours too but we aren't so lucky as to have usable wood under our carpet. Starting over with new, but I can't wait. I love pretty stairs! Great job!

Jenna - I'm all about carpet less stairs - you really made the staircase a focal point!

They look amazing! I've been considering doing the same thing, but our carpet is only about 2 years old. I'll have to wait a little longer until my husband would even consider it! Maybe I could spill red wine of them??!?!? ;)
