Fall Mantel of 2013

Last year I decided I didn't really want to decorate with traditional colors of fall. I wanted to have a more subdued neutral design so I set about to put it together. As I was it slowly took a turn on it's own and became what you see here.
I started with my book page wreath which actually sort of blends in with the color of the wall but was in the hues I wanted to make this design.
I painted some old wood frames with white chalk paint and then painted some dollar store pumpkins. One with a bronze metallic color the other with a powder blue.
I then took some old jars I had saved and painted two of them in bronze and gold metallic craft paint. The other two I used powder blue and white. I then filled them with some faux sunflowers and leaves to give them that fall look.
On the other side of the mantel I used a gold frame propped up on a stack of old books sans covers tied with raffia. I propped a painted powder blue dollar store pumpkin on them. Then added a white candle stick with an orange candle tied with raffia.
A very simple mantel with a basically neutral theme but with some bursts of fall color here and there. I loved this mantel at the time but, feel this year I want to have more traditional colors in the theme.
