Kitchen renovation in 1918 farmhouse

A few before and after photos of our long awaited reno. We did the design and most of the finish work - but used a great local cabinet company - Woodecor - for the cupboards

We're eventually going to renovate the kitchen in our 1899 farmhouse - it's nice to see what others have done!

What a great redo. I am totally jealous of the tin ceiling...and I like the cute bunting on the fridge. Beautiful.

Thanks Kelly, that bunting is some magnets I made myself using a tutorial from Cathe at "Just Something I Made". they look like little cheese labels.

Love the frosted glass on your laundry room door. How did you pull that one off?

It is 'frosted glass' vinyl, I designed it then had it cut at a sign shop and applied it myself- it can be changed if I get tired of it but I really like it!

I was afraid to look, fearing the integrity of the kitchen would be erased. Not so at all. Beautiful job. You updated it without making it too modern for the house. Congrats!

2 stoves and no venting for either one?? might want to rethink that idea, but beautifully done.

Breanna, the new cooktop has downdraft venting, there was no venting in the old kitchen only.

Roanna, thanks so much, I love my old house and really wanted to keep it's character, but I really needed it to "work" better. I'm glad you think I was able to keep its integrity because that was what I wanted too.

Peggy...what is expensive to you? We saved a long time to be able to have the kitchen we wanted. This old house was worth it and so are we.

Thank you Bart, we have been living with this kitchen for over a year now and can attest to the practicality. It works so great and feels so cozy, we spend more time in this room than any other room in our house-besides the bedroom;)
