Sick of Scratched up Dented Chair Legs?

I'm such a sucker for freebie chairs on the side of the road (here, here anyone?), but they often come with a few issues. Case in point? These legs...

Of course, I don't like to spend tons of money fixing up freebies (hat's the point?!), so I used a few a the usual suspects (hello hot glue and PAINT!) and a couple more UNusual additions (think scarves and placemats!)

How did I fix it up? Come on over and see!

Great Idea! I would have never thought of doing that... and I love what you did to the seat cover... I am like you,I like to pick up other peoples stuff that they leave out for the trash man...I always see the potential in it to bring it back to life..=)

Hi Tania! I feel stupid racing out of the car to grab things, but some of my best finds have been freebies from the side of the road :) I try not to do it with my husband and kids in tow, but sometimes it happens...ah well...

i got those ladder back chairs end of driveway by the road. Cut the bottom and add new wood to glue together. i removed those weaved seats to replace wood seats. painted black to look nice with green seat cushions.

Have you ever "almost" taken something and then realized it was their yard furniture?!

oh gosh Donna no, not yet -- have you? We often almost drive up driveways thinking "Oh that's a yard sale!" and then it turns out to be their porch with just a bunch of stuff - OOPS!

Once I started to get a rocking chair that was sitting by the road on a sidewalk. Something just told me that it wasn't there for the taking so I drove off. I too have spotted a porch and thought at first it was a sale or spotted a garage door up, showing a very full garage and thought it might be a garage sale. Then I think, "well, if it's not a garage sale, wonder if they would like to get rid of some stuff"? Then I come back to my senses!
