Tons of work there!! I hope you celebrated when you finished the job. The room has a tremendous amount of character, and was well worth your efforts. Do you know when your home was built and its history?
Well thank you! Yes, lots and lots of work but we couldn't be happier with the final product. And yes, Becky, we do know some of the house's history. Now that's what I call love! Thank you for restoring this beauty to it's original glory. I'm loving that you kept the wood stained and in the style fitting of such a grand home.

all kinds of adventurous stories. Also, in Iowa, when a house is purchased, the new owners get a very detailed record of the house and it's history. It's been interesting to thumb through that too.
That's neat about the house history given when you purchase a home in Iowa. The only home my hubby and I purchased (we are both Iowans) was brand new. I wonder how many others have lived there and got our information.
