Pallet Wood TV Cover

Don't get me wrong...I like television. I can't get enough of Fixer Upper and Food Network. But, I don't like the way the giant black box looks when we aren't actually watching. And when I want to make my mantel look pretty, well it's almost impossible to decorate a giant black rectangle in such a way that I like it!
So I searched high and low for an old wood frame. I found this one at a yard sale for $5!
I had a friend cut pallet wood to the size of the back of the frame.
He nailed them into the frame from the back.
He got them as close to one another as he could.
And now when I want to have my mantel looking good, I just prop this pallet wood filled frame right in front of it!

Very nicely done! I love the rustic look! I just can't believe that some TV manufacturer hasn't realized that we don't like those big black boxes overpowering our decor. Why hasn't some manufacturer realized they could make a really nice frame on TV's and then create a set-up where you could turn the TV to a special channel and have it display great works of art that fits into the frame. One day you could have a Picasso and the next an ocean scene. You could change the art work to a summer meadow to warm yourself up during winter or The Last Supper for Easter.
