I was resistant to start a fall mantel, only for the fact I love warm weather, but after the weather took a dramatic change her in the Midwest it was time to admit fall was here! I am loving anything gold and white right now, so when I found some great minty green pumpkins I knew what I was doing with the mantel. I spray painted 2 bags of gourds and mini pumpkins from Target with gold and white high gloss spray paint. Along with some dried hydrangeas and an up cycled vase, I had a beautiful and subdued gold fall mantel.

Here's an unclose picture of those minty green pumpkins. Funny how some gold spray paint can make an ugly gourd a thing of beauty!
The little squirrel was a thrift store find and I gave him a coat of gold and white spray paint so he would fit right in!
The last touch was to make some pillow covers from two Thanksgiving napkins I found at Pier1.
