Office Area Heat

3po3 on Aug 08, 2012Seems like a return air duct would help. Also, putting all your computer components on a power strip and switching it off when they are not in use will reduce the heat output in the room. Also, many newer computers, etc., generate less heat than older, less efficient models (though some new machines still get really hot, so shop around).Helpful Reply

KMS Woodworks on Aug 09, 2012There might be some other issues here as well...unless you have a dozen PC and monitors in there churning away, they do not put out that much heat. I the room has windows there may be some un noticed solar gain, poor wall insulation etc. turning off the machines will help but so will cleaning them...I recently took the cover off my PC and used an air compressor to blow out the dust bunnies....the fan barely comes on now. A Ceiling fan would also be a good way to even up the rooms tempHelpful Reply
