Faux Roman Shade

I needed a new window treatment for our bathroom window. I applied privacy film to the glass so I wouldn't have to have a full length curtain which blocked the natural light. Instead a sewed a faux roman shade to add color and pattern without blocking the sunlight.
I am not much of a sewer, but even I could figure out this simple faux roman shade.
I chose this Ikat dot pattern from Premiere Prints. The colors tie in with the rest of our bathroom colors.
My fabric made it easy for me to decide where the folds would lay. I just matched up the patterns!
The faux roman shade is just one place I added color and pattern into our bathroom makeover.
There isn't much that wouldn't have looked better than the old curtain haphazardly thrown over the curtain rod that was in the bathroom before! But still, I think the new window treatment is a huge improvement.
