Always inspired with crafts using twine I came across a blog that had showed wheat stalks created with it. I thought they would be a fun addition to my Fall leaf display so I wanted to make some. But durn there was no tutorial on how to do these. The only thing mentioned was the twine was braided in a fishtail hair braid.
Had no idea what a fishtail braid was.....so I did a search on how to do it. Then I had to figure out how to do this with twine to make it look like wheat stalks. After about an hour I did it!
My twine wheat stalks were just the right something to give a little eye candy to my leaf arrangement, I thought anyway...looks much better in real life! I also added them to a wire basket of faux veggies I have on my kitchen table, and a basket of pumpkins. They're kinda cool!
Some finished twine wheat stalks. And, I did a tutorial if anyone else would like to make some. Fun to make and can be used in many ways for decorating. I think next I'll use some white twine to mix in a vase with these.
Getting started!
Wrapping it up! See the blog post for the how to steps to create your own and the short list of supplies! This was a pretty fun project and fast too once you get your rhythm going. It's easy too! Two wheat braids to make one wheat stalk. Takes about 10 minutes! I made twenty! Got kinda additive too lol. I had everything on hand so it didn't cost me a thing!
