Marbeling over brick fireplace in great room
by
Kelly C
(IC: homeowner)
We marbled over hideous brick fireplace and hearth in the great room of our house.
Advice:
We found our tile on the clearance row at Home Depot. Initially, we thought it looked pink, but when we put it with everything else, it was a warm and beautiful color. You will need a wetsaw (and safety goggles) to do this, unless there is a store near you that can cut the tile to your specifications. Measure out your tile beforehand so you know the best place to start.
We wanted a purple-ish great room, and the ugly orange brick that the fireplace and hearth were made of made it look like a circus in there! We found some cream-colored marble with purple veins and placed that over the brick. We got a beautiful custom look that ties in nicely.
Materials:
Marble, fixative, caulk, wetsaw - $0.00
