2 story Storage Building becomes a Work Shop and Office

(IC: professional)
We have all been to Home Depot and saw The 2 Story Storage Building. This project was a 16' x 16' Building. instead of a wooden floor it has a 6" Concrete Floor. The rest of the Construction was traditional Framing. with T-111 siding. It was insulated with R-13 for walls and R-19 for Attic/ceiling. Downstairs we installed 3 Insulated windows and Double Doors. The upstairs we moved the Stairway from inside to outside to increase floor space. The stairway was changed to pressure treated lumber and it led upstairs to New 8' x 16' Deck on The back of Building. This allowed you to enter the Upstairs Office through a Exterior Door. Upstairs we installed 3 insulated windows. Drywall was installed. Homeowner primed and painted. Electrical outlets, switches, light fixtures and even a Ceiling Fan upstairs were installed by Electrician. Even a water line was ran to eventually have water at building.
* Cost Comments:
A Basic 2 Story 16' x 16' Storage Building at Home Depot Cost $7,300.00 before Taxes. None of the up
Advice:
In a project like this and all projects, it is important to make minimum changes. Remember Changes cost money and potential delays. Some changes can be absorbed, some cannot. To avoid this additional expense, do your Homework talk to a Construction Consultant or Manager to discuss your project needs.
Though I have over 20 years Experience. At the time I met the Home Owners I was not actively working in Construction. When the the Homeowners told me about the project they had in mind. It was a great fit because I had built this type of buildings for Home Depot in Metro Atlanta. We have all been to Home Depot and saw The 2 Story Storage Building. We'll this Project started out that way and evolved into a Downstairs workshop for the Husband, a Upstairs Office for the Wife and Upper Level Deck. This project truly was a Work in Progress. The project was a great addition to a 3/2 Single family home on a 10 acre lot. The owner had a small farm on the land. Eventually the owner took advantage of the space under the deck to park his Riding Lawn mower and Farm Tractor . The project went well and the Homeowners were pleased. Because they lived out in the Country, you could really enjoy the Stars at Night from the Deck.
