Making No Sew Curtains.
*Options I considered for this project:
The type of fabric, hardware and accessories used. I also had to consider the look or style of curtains I wanted.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
None- Instructions are easy to find online. Follow them step by step and no problems should occur.
*My motivation to do this project:
As a temporary solution for window treatments when I first moved into my home.
*Project Steps:
Step 1: Gathering of tools and materials
Fabric
Curtain Rod, Wire or Pole
Curtain Clips
Bonding web (stitch witchery)
Iron
Ironing Board
Scissors
Measuring tape
Step 2: Making the curtains
Turn in and press 0.5" at each side and then turn in another 1" and press.
Place a strip of bonding web 1" wide under the fold and press in place using a hot iron and damp cloth. Turn up and press 1" at lower edge and then turn up and press another 3" at lower edge. Place a strip of bonding web 1" wide under the top fold of the hem and press with a hot iron and a damp cloth.
Step 3: Add your hardware- Rods, clips or poles
To make a top to use curtain clips:
Turn and press 1" (2.5cm) at the top edge of the curtain. Check the finished length and adjust if necessary.
Turn down and press another 3" (7.5cm). Cut 3" (7.5cm) strip of bonding web and place under hem.
Press with a hot iron and a damp cloth.
Advice:
Do measure the window before cutting your fabric. Don't burn yourself using the iron.
