Updating a guest room I rent out to people. My nephew and I pulled out the old shag carpet, purchased and installed hardwoods and added fresh paint.
*Options I considered for this project:
Different shades of hardwood and paint, but wound up going with a darker wood that we found on sale.
*Questions and unexpected events that arose during the project:
I didn't realize that the floor under the carpet was in such ill repair so we had to
* Cost Comments:
$407 for materials- $300 plus lunch for my nephew!
*My motivation to do this project:
To make the room more enticing to potential tenants.
*Project Steps:
We shopped on the net for odd lots of wood on sale and I went and picked a paint color that went with my Persian area rug.
Advice:
Get someone with tools (saw) and a level and chalk line. Its good to work with someone who is detail oriented.
Materials:
Flooring and underlayment. Adhesive - $0.00
