Remodeling the Laundry Room

I have a laundry room that I plan to remodel.
The space is a 15 x 8 foot room that's attached to my garage. There is currently some old school drywall on the walls and the ceiling. Suffice to say, it's very utilitarian and not very attractive.
First, I plan to install new wall coverings - most likely some nice finished wall board - there's lots of cool stuff to choose from at Lowe's.
Next, I plan to put in a drop ceiling to finish it off.
After that I will reinstall the new wall cabinets.
Finally, I plan to install some type of floor covering. Right now the floor in the laundry room is an unfinished concrete surface. Finished choices are tile, linoleum, paint or a high gloss concrete sealant - Final choice TBA.
*My motivation to do this project:
Two reasons. Currently, the laundry room just doesn"t look very nice. After the remodel, it will be a lot nicer room to use. Next, I believe it will help add some value to our home and make it easier to sell when it's time.
Old school bare drywall on the walls.
Unfinished drywall ceilings.
Cabinets will be moved up 6 inches higher.
Exposed water heater.
Unfinished concrete floor.
More cabinets to move.
This corner would be a better place for the water heater, and it would make room for another wall cabinet where the water heater currently sits.

Hey Wayne, I live in Roswell also. Sunita P. may be on the right path with painting the ceiling. In a small room a lowered ceiling may may the room seem confining and affect storage space. I know I keep things I don't use very often on top of the shelves/cabinets. Good luck with your singing/song writing I'll be looking for you locally.
  • I would reorganize all the wallcabinets and not leave sace between them. Paint the ceiling , a nice laminate would make yr space look good to start with
