I was the Tile contractor on this whole house remodel...I also did the Stair's hand rail posts and trim.

I like your attention to detail. I have never seen tile following the stairs, interesting!

The old balusters in this house were sections of "re-bar" painted gold...needless to say this is a HUGE improvement....one of the home owners is an architect...and was very receptive to some of my design ideas

Stainless prefab Niches...these are nice, so you tile over them right?

the stainless is covered with a rough sand like finish...the tile mud sticks to it very well, and the stainless "box" is water tight...so its pretty much a "no brainer"

KMS, what about the lady with cat going on stairs? Is there a solution? What about tiling the stairs? Can it be done?

Tiling stairs is possible...but not very common. The stairs need to be very stiff and not flex. most stair are not stiff enough. I suggested she replace the treads with new wood

Love the two niches -- great for storage. Would like my shower to look just like that. Awesome job!

Lisa B...those niches were done with a texture Stainless Steel pre-fab'd insert. The tricky part was calculating the layouts so the tile center band perfectly aligned between the niches with the bullnosed trim pieces....this was detail tighter than 1/8 th of an inch so the grout lines stayed uniform.
