Open concept kitchen

I live in a 3000 square foot home that has 7 windows. So you can imagine how dark it is. I decided to lighten things up by removing all of my upper cabinets, adding bead board, and painting everything a crisp white. I love my kitchen now!

I use all of the white dishes and mason jars daily so dust really isn't a problem for me.

It's a tract home. It was the builders idea to put in such a little amount of windows :)

Nice job! Great accessories and interesting things to look at--keeps the eye moving and makes the kitchen feel larger. Maybe I should post my B-o-r-i-n-g kitchen and ask for your advice!

OMG, my bedroom alone has five windows, two french doors and two skylights. I have to wear a mask before the sun comes up. I've lived on the other spectrum too, with rooms with no windows. Light is not only beneficial, it is so necessary. In my dark apartment, with only three tiny "windows" in five rooms, I added lots of mirrors, and pictures of gardens too.

Beautiful, great job. I'd suggest replacing the black appliances, if you can.

I know what you mean about "Builder's" they're usually all "Men"!? LOL I disagree with taking away the black appliances...? sorry? I really like the contrast! Somehow it adds to the feel!?? ☻M

Yeah, didn't you hear? Black is the new stainless? Just kiddin. Also, I have 4 young kids and stainless is not a very good option for me. Too many fingerprints ;)
