No this is not a moat. This is a large reflection pond for our client on the exclusive North Shore of Long Island.

Large pond with stone bridge and turret with awesome reflection. This pond is 240' long and 60' wide. It uses a natural ecosystem to keep sparkling clear. There is a large bog filter at the waterfall on on end and a 3000 gallon pondless reservoir with 2 10,000 GPH pumps feeding the waterfall. This pond won an International award from the Association of Pool and Spa professionals (APSP) Gold medal for residential water feature from the "International Awards of Excellence" This and other smaller ponds are built on Long Island by Deck and Patio Company www.deckandpatio.com #Bestof2012
Time: 6 Weeks Cost: $100000 Difficulty: Challenging

Fantastic design and stonework. There is a great natural feel to the water scapes.

Although we cannot take credit for the stone work (it was done long before I was born) the idea to create and design this reflection pool was ours, previous proposals did not understand the power and beauty of the reflection.

Thank you for yor kind words. Obviously, this is not something you see everyday, but the idea that you can double the impact of anything beautiful just by adding water (in this case a large still body of water) to get mood or reflection is so powerful. This project was a huge challenge, especially because it need to be very low maintenance. We achieved this by keeping with the same system we always use on all ecosystem ponds. Thanks to Aquascape Inc. for years of training and great resources and product to work with.

That's an incredible project. It looks like something from a fairy tale. What a cool place to spend an afternoon reading or to just relax.
