Amazing what a little paint can do, right? -
I'm popping over to read how you did this! I've got two tall cases that must be painted... -
Great tips! Saved it on my clipboard! -
so good to know ! I was not to sure if I could paint laminate and have it come out fairly nice.. these look great !

we did this with old kitchen cabinets that came from a friend when she did her kitchen over a few years back. We the paint we used was a light yellow. They came out great. -
Thank you for the thorough instructions & step-by-step photos! Great transformation! -
I read on another site that after the laminate is sanded to use a wet tack cloth to clean before priming. What's your opinion on that?
-
Yes Nancy S, I would wipe off the piece of furniture after sanding so when applying the primer, your surface is free and clear of dust. -
thanks Jenna for responding......

WOOHOO! Can't wait to get started on the uglies sitting in my garage. I feel a bit more confident about the future outcome, having seen your success. -
So glad to see this done, since I am sick of looking at laminate furniture and want to paint... -
I didn't follow your steps when I painted my medicine cabinet because I wanted instant results. The results look ok from a distance, but only from a distance. It bubbled and the paint slid all over. It is peeling in the contact areas around the hinges already, but it'll do for now. The whole thing will be have to replaced or stripped and refinished properly. $$ and time being the deciding factor. The paint is too light of a color to have much impact and I was looking for contrast. I didn't like the sad "oak" look and wanted a fresh new start. -

It is absolutely a must to make sure you sand, wipe clean and prime the laminated surfaces before painting.
