I love your new arbor. I don't know what kind of trim you are thinking of but not sure it really needs it. I
would be thrilled that the casualty was only the motion sensor - with my hubby it would have been the bouganvillea (which was the purpose of the whole thing). If you seen a great junk chandelier somewhere that you can put candles in, it would look great hanging from the arbor.
Thank you Ellen! I've been considering decorative corner braces.......just for additional stability. Then again, I won't be adding anything for a while. I want to just absorb it as it is for now.
Thanks ladies! I drew up the plans for the arbor and explained all to him, additionally giving him latitude on some things. I've never been so surprised as I was to walk into the kitchen and see he'd built it while I was away. He's been receiving praise for his work ever since I've been home. He's so good at keeping secrets; I never knew he was working on it.
Douglas, too funny! In the past, anything dear hubby attempted outside of gasoline engine repairs, resulted in injury to his body. You can imagine my surprise that he'd built this while I was away, knowing first aide would not be immediately available! A daring move! In retrospect, I think perhaps building two decks with me may have given him the confidence and experience he needed to complete this project on his own. That and the arbor is very exciting!!
I can't even imagine how tickeled you must have been when you got home!! Now that he's proven himself and the only casualty was the motion sensor - who knows what he might decide to do next?? It looks great and I'm sure the two of you will get many hours of enjoyment!!

@thank you Miriam for the BD wishes.
