Simple & Classic Outdoor Christmas Decorations

Because we live in a classically designed Tudor style home, I like to keep the decorations simple for the holidays.
The front of our 1935 Tudor has enough going on with the brick, stone chimney, wood trim and classic Tudor styling, that adding too much to the front just detracts from the look.
The theme started with this double magnolia wreath which I made a couple of weeks ago. It's simple design doesn't even need a bow.
On either side of the door, we added classic black urns and filled them with greens form the garden. Magnolia leaves tucked in tied the urns to the wreath on the door.
Colour comes from the dogwood branches and birch logs.
The side of the house is another story - casual and vintage with traditional garland hung from the fence and arbour. (The burlap is protecting my rhododendrons from cold winter winds).
This vintage sled got a fresh coat of ASCP Old White to bring it back to life.
The mesh ribbon bow and vintage girls' skates add some colour to the greenery swag.

Stacy | BlakeHillHouse on Dec 06, 2014I love it! I live in a classic home (sadly painted green!), and too much decor would definitely be overwhelming. Great execution on your project!

Heather (New House New Home) on Nov 30, 2015@Marcy, Professional Designer, Artist and Arts and Crafts Instructor Thanks, Marcy. This year, I'm using tartan and a swag instead of a wreath.
