Be Merry - Christmas Sign

‘Tis the Season for magical decor, twinkling lights, bells, music in the air and snow. Christmas time brings out the little kid giddiness in me. I love the look of the statement porch signs - Peace, Joy, Believe. So I decided to whip up a gigantic 'Be Merry' sign.
The sign starts with a few 6' long pieces of barn wood, that are nailed onto 3 pieces of 2x4.
I though it would be fun to combine the modern design of the herringbone shuffle stencil with the rustic flare of the reclaimed lumber. The chevron shape of the herringbone reminds me of pine boughs and the random colors seem like twinkling lights. I chose white, red, forest green and lime green for the paint colors and went to town.
I cut out 'be merry' from 1/2" plywood and painted the letters red. You can download the letter patterns from the blog post (see below).
Nail the letters to the barn wood and that is it! Merry Christmas!
