Ellen H on Oct 13, 2012How large are they? Some of the smaller sedums or succulents (any echeveria, some are quite dramatic looking) would be great, smaller ornamental grasses like some of the carex varieties, plants that trail, like creeping jenny or dichondra silver falls.Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Oct 13, 2012Melissa, I had used these a number of years ago. I dug them in so that the heights varied. then I planted some succulents that would over hang the sides. They were quite dramatic. I live in Canada, so the winters had their way with two of the four :P but since you live in SC they should be ok. Just be sure to plant items that don't have prolific root systems as eventually the roots will split them apart. Sedums or succulents are an excellent choice for perennials You can also put more colour in them by planting some annuals in some of them or the center to add some more drama/interest. Please post a pic in the gardening section when you have them in place.Helpful Reply

Melissa K on Oct 14, 2012Love the idea of succulents, and I had not even thought of what to plant in them, I was really looking for ideas for a decorative. Counted them today and there are 15 (love found objects!). I would like to find a pretty picture of a project that would set them apart from the rest of the garden. I have rooted some mini-gardenias. How would they do in these 4 inch babies?Helpful Reply

Melissa K on Oct 14, 2012Ellen, I have seen sedums on the gardening shows that are nothing like I've ever seen! They do extremely well in my yard, but are all from the same original plant and there is no variety. May have to order these other dramatic sedums!!!Helpful Reply
