A Neutral Living Room With French Influences

After all the excess of Christmas decor, for many years, it's been a sort of "New Years tradition" for me to pare down and lighten up. This is our LR ready for 'less is more' for the new year! A few hints here and there of French influence coupled with lavender scented candles, bright sunshine amidst the color winter days, and it's a room for quiet reflection and reading.

The antique purple glass door knob and shed deer antler are gifts from my brother and sister in law. Reproductions of French postcards lend more French flair.
The winter sunlight and light interior color scheme play so nicely together.
This little cherub is blowing kisses for good wishes to you for 2015.
This little one is just contemplating his 2015 options ;-)
The 'piano salon' side of the LR. There's room for people to gather round for a sing-a-along. In warm weather when the door's open, our neighbors hear my practicing....sometimes that's a good thing; other times wellllll........ ;-)
A chair to sit on while putting on shoes, a basket for necessities, and a mirror to check your reflection just before leaving for the day.
Throw pillows on the sofa, in lavender and a gray toile, look pretty next to the natural elements from our yard, placed in the urn. It all enhances the neutral color scheme.
