My Grandparents Antique Writing Bureau, Looked All "Droopy" and Sad!
by
Caroline
(IC: homeowner)
Dusted off the cobwebs (it had been in our barn in France for over 10 years doing nothing) Then set about it armed with a can of Annie Sloan "French Grey" chalk paint , a French stencil and some wax
Now sits proudly in my home, just for show really, as our generation doesn't use notepaper, ink wells and writing slopes anymore!
Enjoyed the project?

Clint Baker on Nov 07, 2016I bet that was worth some money before you destroyed it. You know if you had washed it with soap and water and a scrub brush and then rub it down with some Old English oil. it would have been restored almost back to the original finish.

LibraryKAT on Dec 24, 2016Well, the nice thing about paint is that it's removable. You can enjoy and love it in your home and if your descendants want it back to its original condition, they can strip it back. Enjoy the results of your vision, I'm sure it looks really nice in your home.
