Redo of a Beloved Old Door

I have a old door that use to be on my boy's bedroom when they were small. We started a growth chart on it in May of 1990 as you can see below. My grandchildren are even marked on this beloved door. I have since moved out of the home that I raised my children in and I live in a small home that has no storage room. I just can't seem to part with this door, so after Christmas decorating was taken down I thought that I had better do something with this beloved eyesore. Here is what I did.
The beloved eyesore.
I had an old rack and a piece of burlap that I thought would make a great bulletin board. I cut the burlap to fit the rack, then stitched the burlap to the rack.
I laid the door down so it would be easier to get at and paint. Which I did with a brown watered down acrylic paint. Then I wiped the door down with a soft cloth.
At the top edge of the door I screwed on 2 curtain brackets upside down.
I had an old jewelry holder that I used for the door knob and washed it with the paint mixture as well.
I had a brown floating shelf that I painted white and hung it about 2/3's the way up. This door is going behind my TV so I needed to leave room for the screen, I didn't want to cover anything up.
I hung the rack on the curtain brackets that have now become the hooks for the hanging rack.
Now it's time to dress the door with pretties. An antique bowl, some rusty cinches and buckles will do.
Rusty keys, and black and white pictures always look great.
I gave the beloved door a little Valentine dress up with antique Valentines, and art.
My TV usually sits right on top of this antique dresser, and underneath the dresser is an old antique army chest which my CD player sits on but I wanted to see how it would look if it wasn't my entertainment center. This was a really fun redo and none of the precious markings got hurt they are on the back. Now I can change up the door for what ever season comes.
