Tim Passinault on Jan 24, 2015Yes it is easier just to throw the package of seed in the freezer for a month or 2 before sowing....this is way too much work!

Annie Medic on Feb 06, 2015I honestly wish you made more sense. I think winter sowing is a great idea, but your post doesn't give any reason to put snow on seeds except some need it. Great. When? How? What seeds? How much? Not a very well written post.

Nest for All Seasons on Feb 28, 2015@Annie Medic I also think winter sowing is a great idea and am glad that you agree! Isn't it wonderful that we can bring attention to subjects we love via the written word! After reading my three articles on winter sowing, you should follow the links within the articles to more detailed information. Here are the links to my three articles in case you missed them in my post: CHAPTER 1 http://www.anestforallseasons.com/2011/01/what-is-winter-sowing-chapter-1.html CHAPTER 2 http://www.anestforallseasons.com/2011/01/which-seeds-are-ok-for-winter-sowing.html AND CHAPTER 3 http://www.anestforallseasons.com/2011/01/winter-sowing-free-way-chapter-3-share.html The sites I link to list various plants, planting requirements and personal experience from other gardeners. My site is an introductory site for beginners and I am glad you got the point that winter sowing is a GREAT idea and you can plant them directly in the snow!

Have a question about this project?
It appears the links to the chapters no longer work. I was hoping to see the seed list in chapter two. Do you have another link? Thank you.
