THIS Trend!

I know, I know, there are two camps to paint or not to paint, lol. I paint wooden furniture all the time. Most furniture available is mass produced, even the older stuff, so really, I see nothing wrong with painting it. I am not a fan of painting mahogany. It require extra work, which isn't such a big problem, but I love the look of it. I scooped up this 30 year old, 8 chair dining set for $100, a great deal.
But it was plain and brown, just not that appealing. I decided that it needed to be updated with this farmhouse look. After sanding I used Minwax Gel Stain in Mahogany for the top. My own version of chalk paint was used on the body of the table and the chairs.
I used Minwax water based poly on everything, to protect the finish.
